About The Bath Hut

At The Bath Hut, Suzie specializes in gentle dog and cat grooming using the best available products that are safe for your pet and for the environment.

The Bath Hut is a solely owned and operated pet grooming business that is veterinarian referred and approved since 1985. Suzie is by appointment only, so unlike many other grooming facilities, there is one person from start to finish personally handling all of your pet's grooming needs. This allows her to work on a certain number of animals at a time, which will reduce stress on your dog or cat and keep the focus on their needs and experience.

Suzie has been in the business of caring for dogs and cats for over fifteen years.

Using the best equipment and the best materials, she will clean and groom your dog or cat as if he or she were her own. Suzie takes pride in cleanliness and providing personalized and gentle attention to your dog or cat. With love and care, she will show the most timid pet that grooming will be a great experience not only for them but also for you as the owner. The Bath Hut will never use any sedatives while grooming your dog or cat.

Grooming is More Than just a Bath!

A professional grooming should include:

Why Choose a Professional Groomer?

You may not have the time, tools, experience, or physical ability to adequately groom your pet. Many dogs or cats need their coat professionally groomed or require regular or even seasonal clipping. Many also need medicated or all natural flea baths or removal of their matted fur. A properly trained groomer will safely and humanely handle these situations with love, care and compassion.

FAQ's

Q. Do I need an appointment or Do you accept walk-ins?

A. To prevent overbooking, The Bath Hut does not accept walk-ins. All appointments must be pre-scheduled. Because the Bath Hut prides itself on personalized attention, please call ahead!

Q. Why do I need to have my dog groomed every four to eight weeks?

A. In order to maintain a proper and manageable coat I recommend that you have your dog groomed on a regular schedule. A four to eight week schedule is ideal especially for non-shedding breeds such as Poodles, Bichon, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apsos, and Terriers. The coat on these breeds can become painfully matted if not properly maintained. If your dog or cat has a short shedding coat, you can usually wait eight or twelve weeks as long as they are brushed thoroughly at home

Q. How long does grooming take?

A. The typical stay is three to four hours. Hand scissoring and de-matting can take longer. Each of your pets' situation can be individual and take longer.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. If you must cancel an appointment, please give a minimum of 24 hour notice. It is important that you are on time for your appointment. If you are more than 30 minutes late, you will have to be rescheduled. If you no-show on your scheduled appointment, you may be subject to pay in full at time of your next appointment booking. Please understand The Bath Hut is proud to have long term clients and runs a very tight schedule. Any last minute cancellations or no-shows makes it hard to run our business effectively.

Q. Can I stay with my pet during the grooming?

A. Thank you for asking, but no! Please understand that your dog or cat will be calmer and better behaved in a grooming atmosphere when their owner is not present. Your pet's full attention is needed during this time when sharp equipment is used around your pet's eyes and other sensitive parts. Your pet's welfare is of top concern, and The Bath Hut appreciates no disruptions during the grooming process.

Q. When is it best to have my puppy or kitten groomed for the first time?

A. It is never too early to get your new pet accustomed to the grooming process! Your pet's first visit will be short and simple and stress free. The Bath Hut's goal is to ease your new baby into a routine to become a future grooming rockstar!

Q. My pet is older, can he or she be groomed?

A. Yes! However, older pets need extra special care. Suzie may recommend that the cut is short and simple, so that the grooming process and more importantly your dog or cat's stress level remains as minimal as possible.

Q. My dog or cat is matted, but I don't want him shaved! You can brush him out, right?

A. No...It hurts your animal...A LOT! Suzie is a professional, but unfortunately, she has no special way to make a dematting hurt any less painful. The Bath Hut will do all that they can to save the coat, but in most cases, if your dog or cat is matted in one or more places, they will have to be shaved. Suzie will consult you.
